This week, we proudly celebrate the accomplishments of 411 graduates who have earned their degrees across our diverse degree-completion programs and will be walking in SDSU Commencement ceremonies this weekend. These individuals, each with their own unique aspirations and talents, have successfully completed their academic journeys while balancing work, family, and other commitment and are now poised to make meaningful contributions to their respective fields. 

Let’s take a closer look at our spring graduating class and explore the aspects that define the SDSU Global Campus class of 2024, showcasing the exceptional individuals who have emerged as the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers.

Age

Our 2024 graduating class are a diverse group and truly come from all walks of life. Most of our 2024 graduates (42%) are in the 25-34 age range, followed by the 18-24 year-olds at 30%. The 35-44 age group makes up 19% of the graduates, showcasing the inclusive and accessible nature of our programs.

GPA

The grade point average distribution among our 2024 graduating class reflects the academic excellence of our students. Of our graduates, 44% achieved a GPA within the 3.0-3.5 range. Closely following, 35% maintained an impressive 3.5-4.0 GPA. Rounding out the GPA spectrum, 11% of the graduates earned a 2.5-3.0 GPA, demonstrating the breadth of academic achievement within our programs.

Ethnicity

The majority of our graduating class is Hispanic Latino (38%) followed by those who are white (34%) and Asian (11%). SDSU Global Campus strives to foster a diverse student body to create an inclusive learning environment where each student feels welcome to learn and achieve their goals. 

Gender

Our graduating class of 2024 is composed of a diverse group of individuals, with 63% of the students identifying as female and 37% identifying as male.

This remarkable gender balance reflects the inclusive and equitable nature of our academic programs, which have fostered an environment that encourages and empowers students of all backgrounds to pursue their educational and professional aspirations.

County

Our 2024 graduating class hails from diverse geographic regions, with 42% of the students calling San Diego County home. Los Angeles County follows, representing 11% of the graduates, while Orange County and Riverside County each account for 6% of the class.

Programs

Our 2024 graduating class showcased the diverse academic interests and pursuits of our students. Business Administration emerged as the most popular field of study, with 41% of the graduates earning degrees in this discipline. The second-largest cohort, at 12%, specialized in Criminal Justice, reflecting the growing demand for skilled professionals in the field of public safety and law enforcement.

Additionally, Communication garnered the interest of 8% of the class, while the remaining graduates focused on Public Administration, Public Health, and Educational Leadership, each representing 5% of the class. This varied distribution of academic specializations underscores our institution’s assorted program offerings, ensuring our graduates are equipped to excel in their chosen career paths.

Our 2024 graduates will have the option of walking in SDSU’s in-person commencement ceremonies. They will be able to celebrate their accomplishments alongside their main-campus classmates.
