Meet Shahla Rabie – criminal justice major already working in the criminal justice field, delighted to reveal her transfer student experience.
1. Can you describe your experience as a transfer student coming into the SDSU Global Campus program?
After trying to complete my bachelors degree for many years since completing my associates, I was of course nervous as to how I would be able to fit my studies into my current life and successfully complete my degree. Transferring to SDSU was incredibly seamless and very encouraging as my SDSU counselor was extremely helpful in guiding me through the entire enrollment process.
2. What is the most rewarding aspect of being a transfer student?
My transfer student reward came from being secure in knowing that I would actually be attaining my degree as my end goal, but I was not alone at SDSU in the process. I never felt that I was lost or abandoned in the process of my education. The courses were interesting and relevant to my degree.
3. What kind of support is offered to transfer students that differs from other students?
My counselor Lauren, has been unbelievably kind and patient. She always replied in a timely manner and addressed any of my concerns. This made my experience so much easier. Global Campus is readily available. They try to answer your questions expeditiously.
4. What does your plan look like after graduation?
I plan to apply to as many agencies in law enforcement. I hope to get an entry position and demonstrate my abilities. I am a certified polygraph examiner and want to polygraph for an agency.
