The Expo! Expo! Trade Show is returning to Los Angeles next week 10 years after its last visit — and our Hospitality and Tourism and Meeting and Event Management teams will be there! The five day event is a premier show designed for professionals in the exhibitions and events industry, offering opportunities for education, networking, and showcasing innovative products and services.
The action kicks off on Sunday, Dec. 15 and runs through Thursday, Dec. 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Exhibition organizers, event marketers, venue managers, service providers, technology developers, and professionals seeking insights into managing and executing successful events will attend.
This high-profile event provides an ideal platform for our Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) and Meeting and Event Management (MEM) programs to shine. The programs will participate by hosting a table throughout the five days, creating opportunity for collective growth through rich content, vibrant community connections, and invaluable networking.
Expo! Expo! by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) highlights education and professional development, exhibition and trade shows, networking opportunities, global engagement, and innovation and trends. The trade show is notable in its community of resilient and vibrant business partners who are eager to build unmatched connections, especially those in the beginning of their careers.
Meet the SDSU Team
This show aligns with HTM and MEM’s missions of equipping students and professionals with cutting-edge skills and preparing them for a fulfilling career.
“As a first time exhibitor at IAEE Expo! Expo!, I’m excited to see what kinds of organizations are represented, both from the planner and the supplier sides of the business. Exploring the trade show to meet other exhibitors is always a highlight too,” said Candy Flynn, student experience manager for SDSU’s HTM & MEM Masters Programs.
Our HTM program focuses on leadership development, strategic thinking, and global hospitality trends, all of which can be leveraged through Expo! Expo! Furthermore, while the MEM program emphasizes advanced planning and strategic management for high-impact events, which is covered at the many educational sessions.
Flynn also hopes prospective students will engage with attending students and alumni, especially since networking in-person creates powerful connections and unmatched opportunities.
SDSU’s presence at Expo! Expo! offers significant benefits to its students or early professionals in attendance, particularly those in fields related to event management, hospitality, marketing, and business. We will be showcasing our own talent by promoting programs and student involvement at the show.
Our involvement positions students for success by providing them with access to invaluable industry connections, hands-on learning opportunities, and resources that align with their academic preparation and the practical demands of the exhibitions and events industry. Whether you are a student, just starting your career, or a seasoned professional, this event is an investment in your development and a chance to stand out in a competitive field.
Expo! Expo! Is referred to as the “Show for Shows”, reflecting its role as a microcosm of the exhibition industry itself. It is an important event for staying updated, discovering best practices, and fostering professional growth. Click here to register and see for yourself:
