Whether retaking a class, seeking to explore a new area of interest, or advancing your path to graduation, SDSU Winter Session lets you learn in an accelerated online format that lets you study from anywhere winter break takes you.
Winter Session enrollment is open to current SDSU students, students at another college or university, working professionals, and high school graduates.
From Afro-American History, Medical Terminology, and Dance Influencers, SDSU Winter Session offers a diverse array of 63 online courses that can open the door to new interests or cover graduation requirements.
New Year, New Classes
Winter Session 2027 will feature 10 new courses in a wide range of topics and areas of study. Courses are being offered from every SDSU college, covering everything from auditing to comics and history, expanding opportunities for everyone to advance this holiday break.

Students who have taken Winter Session courses say they like the fast pace which allows them to complete their work while on break in an online format that still gives them flexibility to complete their studies when and where it works for them.
“My favorite part about taking class during the winter session was getting ahead of things while still being able to complete my work at a pace where I am still learning. Taking winter session classes are well worth it because it can take the load off of you in the future and/or keep you on track if you fall behind,” said Sean Newman, a past SDSU Winter Session student.
The 20227 Winter Session Term begins Dec. 17 and runs through Jan. 14, making courses accelerated and rigorous in terms of format and timeline. The Registration Period runs from Sept. 21 to Dec. 15, with the drop deadline on Dec. 16 for a full refund and Dec. 24 for a 65% refund.
Offered fully online by SDSU Global Campus since 2019, last year more than 1,800 students were registered for Winter Session courses.
Students are restricted to 3 units during Winter Session.
