What Professional Certificates Does SDSU Offer?
Professional Certificates from SDSU cover a wide range of sectors from construction to hospitality to management.
Courses in these programs are open to anyone–no application needed. Just follow the enrollment process steps, and you’ll be ready to get on your way to certification.
Construction Certificates
Global Campus offers a total of five construction related certificates: civil sitework, estimating, construction practices, project management, and supervision. Since each one covers a very specific area of the construction industry, you can choose the niche that best fits your goals. All of these programs can be completed in just 6 months and are taught by industry professionals.
Management Certificates
The next category of certificates is the management certifications: project management, human resource management, and contract management. Project management is the most general, but the most widely applicable since it teaches you all about coordinating team members and organizing deadlines for any project. Human resource management trains you to successfully create a workplace culture that will attract and retain top talent.
Contract management is unique in the fact that there is a standard and advanced version of the certificate. One takes 12 months to complete, while the advanced takes 18. Both provide you with the necessary skills to effectively work with the contacting process.
Technology Certificates
The two technology based certificates offered by SDSU Global Campus are the Lean Six Sigma Certificates and Qualcomm Associate-Level 5G Certification. Lean Six Sigma is all about increasing productivity in businesses by cutting wasteful steps and utilizing AI automations. The 5G certification teaches you all about 5G applications and how to best utilize them.
What Advanced Certificates Does SDSU Offer?
SDSU offers four different graduate-level certificates in public health, regulatory affairs, and administrative services.
Because of the advanced nature of the courses for these programs, they do require an extra step compared to the professional certificates. In order to register for these courses you must be admitted into San Diego State University.
Public Health
The Advanced Public Health Certificate is designed for professionals working in the public health field to understand advanced concepts that could help them take on more responsibilities at work. The courses cover a wide range of topics in the public health field, including biostatistics and environmental health factors.
This certificate can be easily leveraged into either of Global Campus’ Masters of Public Health degrees. You’re able to transfer fifteen units earned in the certificate directly to an MPH in Epidemiology or MPH in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science.
Regulatory Affairs
The Advanced Certificate in Regulatory Affairs provides you with an understanding of rules and regulations within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device fields. Similar to the public health certificate, this can also be a good stepping stone toward the Master’s in Regulatory Affairs from SDSU.
Preliminary Administrative Services Credential
The Online Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (OPASC) program was made for educational professionals who aspire to become administrators in the state of California. Courses will prepare you to empower leaders at all levels of your school community. The program includes both online courses and field experience.
Additionally, Global Campus offers a program that combines the OPASC program with a Master’s in Educational Leadership. The combined program allows you to earn both the certification and graduate degree within a year.
