An economics degree combines politics, math, sociology, law, and psychology into one well-rounded program. Graduates pursue rewarding careers in a wide range of fields, including business, marketing, financial services, and government and public policy.
We asked SDSU Global Campus Bachelor of Arts in Economics graduate Steven Monoto three questions about his experience with the program and what he’s doing with the skills and knowledge he gained in the program.
1. What was your favorite part about the the program?
Although the classes were online, the program fostered a culture of inclusivity. I felt as if I was part of the San Diego State community even though I was taking classes from a hundred miles away.
The program’s professors are SDSU professors who are very knowledgeable in their fields. They provide a challenging curriculum but take the time to ensure the students comprehend the material, which is essential for success.
2. How did your program advance your career and what are you doing now?
The program gave me the skills and understanding in my career. I am the director of operations for a produce distributor with customers across the West Coast. The program also prepared me to continue my studies while pursuing my MBA.
3. What advice would you give to future students?
The program can be challenging, but the subjects and topics covered are interesting, informative, and applicable to real-life scenarios. Put in the work, and you will be rewarded.
